New York Gets Its Gehry



The swooping, white-glass wonder that has risen alongside the Hudson River is the meeting of two notoriously strong-willed minds. Barry Diller, the chairman and chief executive of IAC, wanted his company's new headquarters to make a statement—without costing a fortune—and Frank Gehry wanted to design a commercial building as exciting as his Bilbao and L.A. landmarks. In this VF.com exclusive, Gehry shares his early sketches and models of the IAC building—his first freestanding structure in Manhattan—while Todd Eberle contributes outtakes from his shoot of the historic finished product.
